The grape seeds used to make MASQUELIER’s® Original OPCs are vitis vinifera grapes, obtained from wine mark in the Champagne region of France (the pulp from the grapes used to make Champagne). The grapes from this region are world famous for their excellence in Champagne making. Similarly so, the environmental conditions from this region provide the excellence in grape seeds required for the OPCs specified by Professor Masquelier. They are processed immediately after arriving at the winery after the annual harvest. This ensures that the OPCs retain their effectivity.
OPCs AND CATECHIN EXTRACT FROM FRENCH GRAPE SEEDS
Although MASQUELIER’s® Original OPCs is technically a Grape seed extract (GSE), it is actually quite different. This is because the extraction process only takes a small amount of the many different substances (other proanthocyanidins and polyphenols, tannins etc) found in Grape seeds. Professor Masquelier found that particular types of OPCs with catechins, when combined in particular ratios, were the most potent substances contained in them. Its production requires a much more rigorous and involved extraction process, and results in a much more selective and unique formulation.
